Shiloe Harsma - Head Teacher, Communications

I grew up in Flandreau, South Dakota with my parents, Paul and Stephanie Amdahl.  I worked for McDonald's Restaurant for 13 years before making the choice to become a teacher, although I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a kindergartener.  I attended college at Dakota State University and graduated in December of 2010 with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a K-12 Reading and K-12 Technology Minor.  I renewed my degree in July 2016, 2021, and 2026.  I have been with Madison Christian School since 2012.  

My family consists of my husband (Chris), my daughters (Josephine and Clara), and my son (Jared).  I have two grandsons, Owen who is a first grader and Bennett who was born New Year's Eve. We live just outside of Madison, South Dakota on a small acre.  We love animals of all kinds and have had many different kinds, but currently we only have a dog named Teddy and two cats, Checkers and Stormy.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, cross-stitching, playing video games, watching movies, playing the piano, listening to music, and spending time with my family and friends.
